Very Cool People

This blog would not be here if it weren’t for the inspiration of Pen, Pencil, and Paper Addicts like these. Weather they’re selling, reviewing, or even creating these wonderful tools, each one of them has something special to offer. Drop in, look around, and tell them The Poor Penman sent ya.

Bloggers

PenAddict.com – Brad Dowdy, aka The Pen Addict is (among other things) a Blogger, Podcaster, and Maker of some of the best pen cases money can buy.

WellAppointedDesk.com – Ana Reinert’s all-encompassing blog detailing everything you could ever want on your desk. This wonderful blog is also home to The Epic Refill Reference Guide, a resource I use at least once a week.

EdJelley.com – Not only does Ed Jelley post incredibly helpful reviews and buyer’s guides, he also produces some of the best photography in the industry. His Instagram feed alone is worth a few minutes of your time.

Clickypost.com – The Clicky Post is Mike Dudek’s blog for honest and thorough pen, paper, and accessory reviews, as well as brilliantly designed pen and notebook stands.

Retailers

JetPens.com – This California-based site covers the widest spectrum of pen and stationery supplies around. Fountain pens for every budget. Gel, roller ball, and ball point pens with dozens of refills. Stationery from all over the world. Even pencils if you’re into that sort of thing. All available to ship, typically within 24 hours of placing an order. And with free U.S. shipping with a $25 order, JetPens is tough to beat.

PenChalet.com – Based in Arizona, this pen shop specializes in two things: Fountain Pens of every level, and saving you money. Every week Pen Chalet offers a new selection of pens from various manufacturers at prices that literally cannot be beat. They also frequently support The Pen Addict Podcast with additional deals and exclusive discounts. Their shipping is fast and fairly priced, and their selection is tough to beat.

GouletPens.com – What started as an enthusiast making pens in his spare time has evolved into one of the top retailers of fine writing instruments in the country. In addition to the pens, paper, and accessories, The Goulets also offer a full range of pen cleaning and tuning supplies, as well as a blog and YouTube channel dedicated to providing the most up to date information possible, as well as answers to the Community’s frequently asked questions. Their Ashland, VA warehouse ships order quickly and efficiently, and they always include a hand-written thank you with every order.

Vanness1938.com – Vanness Pens in Little Rock, AR is my number one spot for those hard-to-find fountain pen inks. While they do carry a full line of fountain pens and accessories, their selection of inks including KWZ, Akkerman, and Bungbox are difficult to find.

AndersonPens.com – Anderson Pens is another great source for some of the more hard-to-find pen products. Vintage pens, new pens, cleaning, tuning, modification, restoration, and repair. Anderson has a little something for everyone. My first order with Anderson was for some Esterbrook repair parts; I received a shipping notice from their Appleton, WI warehouse within an hour of placing the order.

Makers

KarasKustoms.com – Karas Kustoms makes tough but refined writing instruments at their shop in Mesa, AZ. All of their products are Made in America and built to last This brand is the first I really splurged on. If it’s within your budget, I highly recommend a Karas pen.

NockCo.com – The Pen Addict knows pens. He knows what pens users need. When he and his business partner couldn’t find the perfect product, they made their own. Nock, Co. pen cases are lovingly designed and built to protect your investments. If you like to carry three or more pens at any given moment, you need a Nock case in your life.

BaronFig.com – Similar to Nock Co, the people over at Baron Fig noticed something missing from the market, so they went to work. Baron Fig notebooks and other products are built for thinkers and designers, and designed with simplicity in mind. If you’re looking for a new notebook and you also like supporting small businesses, absolutely check out Baron Fig.
